WHEN Howard Rice, a mid-sized law firm in San Francisco, showed us what they had in mind for their image brochure, we groaned. Like most law firms, they wanted to describe every practice area (they have 26) with every dry and dreary detail, leaving us with a brochure with 30 pages filled to the brim with 10-point type.
They were happy when we suggested a goal of getting the readers past page 3 by telling real and significant stories, backdropped with photographs of their people moving through their offices. The result is a brochure that is engaging and easy to read.
